Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Bhagyalakshmi Temple near the historic Charminar in Hyderabad on Monday and offered prayers before the BJP’s ‘Maha Padyatra’.
After reaching the city, Shah headed to the temple in the old city. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy and Telangana BJP chief N. Ramchander Rao were present with him.
Party leaders welcomed Shah at Begumpet Airport. Those present included Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Ramchander Rao, BJP MPs and other leaders.
The BJP is holding the ‘Maha Padyatra’ under its nationwide initiative, ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’. The procession will start from the Babu Jagjivan Ram Statue in Basheerbagh and proceed to Moazzam Jahi Market.
The march aims to challenge the INDIA bloc’s campaign against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Shah will address a corner meeting at Moazzam Jahi Market after completing the march.
The Union Home Minister is also expected to respond to the INDIA bloc’s criticism of the BJP, which leaders delivered at their Sunday rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan.
Ramchander Rao wrote on X that BJP leaders performed special prayers at the Bhagyalakshmi Temple, seeking strength to confront ‘deshdrohi forces’ allegedly working to create unrest in the country.
Jai Maa Bhagyalakshmi!
Upon arriving in Hyderabad, Hon’ble HM Sri @AmitShah ji went straight to Bhagyalakshmi Ammavaru Temple and offered special pooja. Honoured to have joined him.
Prayed to Ammavaru for strength to fight deshdrohi forces attempting to create anarchy in our country.
May Ammavaru destroy all evil forces that threaten our nation and bless Bharat and her children with prosperity!

He accused the Congress of attempting to push India towards anarchy and also said Telangana would not forgive the party.
“Our country’s Constitution and the people’s mandate will govern India, not Rahul Gandhi’s riot-mongering politics,” he said.
Rao also questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s participation in the Delhi rally, alleging that the state administration had failed to address Telangana’s ongoing water crisis.
“Their entire focus was on making yesterday’s Ramlila Maidan rally a success, only for it to turn into a major flop. Instead of fighting the water crisis in Telangana, CM Reddy is busy attending flop rallies to protect the votes of illegal infiltrators,” he said.
