Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Bhagyalakshmi Temple near the historic Charminar in Hyderabad on Monday and offered special prayers ahead of the BJP’s ‘Maha Padyatra’ under its nationwide campaign, ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’.
After arriving in the city, Shah headed directly to the temple in the old city, where Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao joined him for the prayers. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy was also present.
In a post on X, Rao said Shah offered a special pooja at the Bhagyalakshmi Ammavaru Temple after arriving in Hyderabad.
Rao said he had joined the Union Home Minister and prayed to the deity for strength to confront forces allegedly attempting to create unrest in the country. He further sought blessings for India’s prosperity and the destruction of forces threatening the nation.
Jai Maa Bhagyalakshmi!
Upon arriving in Hyderabad, Hon’ble HM Sri @AmitShah ji went straight to Bhagyalakshmi Ammavaru Temple and offered special pooja. Honoured to have joined him.

The temple visit came ahead of the BJP’s ‘Maha Padyatra’, which will begin at the Babu Jagjivan Ram Statue in Basheerbagh and proceed to Moazzam Jahi Market.
The march is, however, aimed at challenging the INDIA bloc’s campaign against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Shah will likely address a corner meeting at Moazzam Jahi Market after the procession.
BJP leaders had welcomed him at Begumpet Airport, where Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Kishan Reddy, Rao, BJP MPs and other party leaders were present.
