Amit Shah To Visit Maharashtra Amid National Focus On Operation Sindoor

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin a two-day visit to Maharashtra from 25 to 27 May, marking his first trip to the state following Operation Sindoor and the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Day One: From Nagpur To Nanded

According to a BJP statement, Shah is scheduled to land in Nagpur at 9:30 PM on 25 May.

The following day, 26 May, his public engagements will begin with the foundation stone-laying ceremony for Swasti Nivas at the National Cancer Institute, Jamtha, Nagpur.

At 1:00 PM, he will attend a function at the National Forensic Sciences University in Chincholi, located in Nagpur’s Kamthi tehsil.

Later that afternoon, Shah will travel to Nanded, arriving at 3:00 PM to unveil a statue of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik.

The Home Minister has also allotted time for internal meetings during this leg of the trip.

Following that, he will address a gathering at the Kusum Auditorium at the Shankarrao Chavan Memorial.

In the evening, his itinerary includes the inauguration of the Nana Nani Park Industrial Area at 5:15 PM, followed by a public rally at 6:30 PM.

Shah is expected to leave Nanded that same evening and arrive in Mumbai at 10:00 PM.

Day Two: Religious And Commemorative Engagements In Mumbai

On 27 May, the Home Minister will begin his day at 10:30 AM by participating in the 150th anniversary celebrations of Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir at Madhav Baug.

At 1:00 PM, he will speak at a commemorative function marking the 60th death anniversary of VD Savarkar, an influential figure in India’s freedom struggle and nationalist thought.

His visit will conclude with his departure for New Delhi at 2:30 PM.

Operation Sindoor Expected To Feature Prominently

A senior BJP official confirmed that this visit holds special significance as it follows India’s retaliatory strikes under Operation Sindoor and the resulting ceasefire with Pakistan.

This is Shah’s first visit to Maharashtra after Operation Sindoor. The official said that national security and India’s zero tolerance for terrorism will naturally feature as central themes in his speeches.

He also highlighted Shah’s recent remarks from 23 May, in which the Home Minister accused the Pakistan Army of direct complicity in cross-border terrorism.

Shah stated that senior Pakistani military officials offered funeral prayers and carried the coffins of terrorists whom Indian forces neutralised during the 7 May strikes on terror hubs in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan.

A Visit Amid A Broader Diplomatic Campaign

Shah’s Maharashtra tour aligns with India’s wider Operation Sindoor global outreach, where Indian delegations are engaging with international stakeholders to highlight the ongoing threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and to assert India’s right to self-defence on the global stage.

As the tour unfolds, political observers expect Shah’s messages in Maharashtra to echo the Centre’s firm stance on national security, while reinforcing the government’s efforts to rally domestic and international support against cross-border terrorism.
