Amit Shah To Lead High-Level Security Review Following Delhi Blast

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will convene a top-level security review meeting at Kartavya Bhawan at 11 AM on Tuesday, a day after a deadly explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi.

The meeting will bring together key figures in India’s internal security apparatus to assess the evolving situation and coordinate next steps.

The meeting will be attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Sadanand Vasant Date. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat will join the deliberations virtually.

On Monday night, HM Shah visited the blast site near Gate No. 1 of Lal Qila Metro Station, where a car explosion caused widespread panic and severe damage.

Arriving around 9:45 PM, he inspected the charred remains of the vehicle, surrounded by forensic teams and bomb disposal experts.

Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and senior NIA officials briefed the Home Minister before he visited Lok Nayak Jaiprakash (LNJP) Hospital, where several injured victims are receiving treatment.

Shah personally met the wounded, including a 12-year-old boy with burns and a taxi driver whose vehicle was caught in the blast.

He also expressed condolences and assured the victims’ families of a comprehensive investigation, vowing that authorities would leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Terror Link and Expanded Probe

In a related development, Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Monday morning that it had busted a major inter-state terror module connected to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

The operation, carried out in Faridabad, Haryana, led to the recovery of 2,900 kg of explosives, multiple firearms, detonators, and other materials.

Police arrested seven suspects linked to the Delhi blast, indicating a possible connection between the terror network and the capital’s explosion.

Investigators are probing whether the same group supplied materials or logistical support for the Red Fort incident.

Security agencies have tightened measures across Delhi-NCR, deploying NSG commandos at key locations and increasing patrols around railway stations, metro lines, and crowded marketplaces.

The Home Minister has directed the NIA, the Intelligence Bureau, and the Delhi Police Special Cell to coordinate seamlessly and ensure swift progress in the case.

Moreover, Authorities have issued high alerts in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Mumbai, and enhanced security at public places and religious sites.

As investigations continue, the Ministry of Home Affairs has urged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.

Officials expect the upcoming review meeting to strengthen surveillance measures and improve inter-agency cooperation to prevent future threats.

The Red Fort blast has further reignited concerns about urban terror networks, prompting the government to reinforce its commitment to national security and public safety.
