Amit Shah To Inaugurate Sabareesam Building At Ayyappa Temple In Delhi

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will formally inaugurate the newly completed ‘Sabareesam’ building at the Ayyappa Temple complex in RK Puram, New Delhi, on Sunday.

The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM, when officials will dedicate the facility to devotees and members of the temple community.

The temple authorities constructed the building within the temple grounds to strengthen existing infrastructure and accommodate a broader range of activities and services.

According to temple officials, the new facility will host spiritual congregations, devotional events, charitable programmes and community initiatives throughout the year.

The Office of the Union Home Minister confirmed the inauguration through a post, announcing Amit Shah’s participation in the event at the temple complex.

Located in RK Puram, the Ayyappa Temple was established in 1980 and is widely recognised as one of North India’s most important shrines dedicated to Lord Ayyappa.

Its traditional Kerala-inspired architectural style draws worshippers from Delhi as well as neighbouring regions.

Over the decades, the temple has developed into a key religious and cultural hub for the Malayali community and thousands of devotees in the national capital. It regularly organises special prayers, devotional singing sessions, cultural events and welfare activities.

Temple management believes the Sabareesam building will provide additional capacity for programmes and improve convenience for devotees visiting the complex.

The expanded infrastructure will also strengthen the temple’s social outreach initiatives and deepen its engagement with the community.

Organisers expect a large turnout of devotees and community members for the inauguration, which marks another important milestone in the ongoing development of the Ayyappa Temple complex in Delhi.
