Amit Shah To Inaugurate KLE Medical College & Hospital In Hubballi

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the new KLE JGMM Medical College and Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Hubballi during his Karnataka visit on Saturday.

He will later travel to Examba in Belagavi district to inaugurate the new headquarters of Shri Beereshwar Cooperative Credit Society.

Shah arrived in Hubballi late on Friday night and stayed at a private hotel ahead of his scheduled programmes.

Karnataka BJP President and MLA BY Vijayendra welcomed him and said his presence had brought renewed energy among party workers across the state. Vijayendra also said Shah’s guidance would strengthen the party organisation.

Several BJP leaders were present at Shah’s arrival, including Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, BJP national vice-president and Rajya Sabha member M Nagaraj, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, Hubballi-Dharwad Mayor Durgamma Bijawad, MLAs Arvind Bellad and Mahesh Tenginakai, and Legislative Council member Lingaraj Patil.

Shah will inaugurate the KLE JGMM Medical College and Hospital and Medical Research Centre at 11 AM in Hubballi.

The new Gabbur campus spans 50 acres and houses medical college and hospital facilities.

Reports ahead of the inauguration put the estimated cost of the integrated campus at around ₹700 crore.

Later in the day, Shah will travel to Examba in Belagavi district to inaugurate the new headquarters building of Shri Beereshwar Cooperative Credit Society.

The programme is scheduled for 2.15 pm at Shri Beereshwar Bhavan on the Examba-Chikkodi Road.

According to his schedule shared on social media, Shah will travel by special aircraft from Hubballi to Maharashtra’s Kolhapur before proceeding by road to Examba in Chikkodi taluk.

Shah’s Karnataka visit forms part of his two-day programme in the state on September 18 and 19.
