Amit Shah Slams Lalu Yadav And Opposition Bloc In Siwan; Recalls Bihar’s ‘Dark Era’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during an election rally in Siwan on Friday, sharply criticised RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and the opposition alliance. He revisited what he described as Bihar’s ‘dark years’ under the Lalu-Rabri government and the influence of gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin.

Speaking before a packed crowd, Shah alleged that Siwan had suffered years of lawlessness and fear.

“For twenty long years, this land of Siwan endured the jungle raj of Lalu and Rabri. Siwan witnessed atrocities, oppression, and countless murders under that regime. But the brave people here never bowed down and put an end to that era,” he stated.

Recalling Siwan’s association with India’s first President, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Shah praised the district for its history of resilience. He accused the RJD of widespread corruption, claiming the party remain involved in several scandals.

“Tell the people what you did in 20 years—except scams. You were involved in fodder, land, power, job and railway hotel scams. They didn’t spare even the relief schemes,” he further asserted, attacking the opposition.

Referring to the late Shahabuddin, a former RJD MP, Shah recounted the climate of fear that once gripped the region.

“For 20 years, A-category history-sheeter Shahabuddin, with 75 cases and two jail terms, terrorised Siwan. He even bathed a businessman’s sons in acid. Yet the people of Siwan never surrendered. Today, Lalu Prasad has given a ticket to Shahabuddin’s son from Raghunathpur. But under Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, even if 100 Shahabuddins come, they cannot harm you,” he noted.

Defending Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Shah credited him with restoring order in the state.

Additionally, he said the ‘double-engine’ government of Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar had brought peace and progress over the past eleven years.

On National Security, Shah drew a contrast between the NDA and previous governments.

“When Congress and Lalu-Sonia were in power, terrorists were served biryani. Under PM Modi, we carried out surgical strikes, air strikes and Operation Sindoor inside Pakistan,” he further emphasised.

Concluding his address, Shah expressed confidence in the NDA’s victory, saying the opposition’s campaign was faltering.

“Lalu’s son’s campaign has collapsed even before it began. Their alliance is in disarray. Bihar’s people have decided — only PM Modi-Nitish can ensure safety, development and dignity,” he declared.
