Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday inaugurated the ‘Shaheed Veer Gundadhur Seva Dera’ in Netanar village of Bastar district. Authorities established the public utility centre within the premises of a Central Reserve Police Force camp to serve residents.
During his visit, Shah described the initiative as a major milestone in promoting development, generating employment and encouraging self-reliance in the region. This marked his first visit to Bastar after the complete elimination of Left Wing Extremism in the area.
The event witnessed the presence of Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, State President Kiran Deo, and Minister Kedar Kashyap, along with a large gathering of villagers and public representatives.
During the programme, Amit Shah paid heartfelt tributes to the brave security personnel who sacrificed their lives for peace, security and progress in Bastar. He stated that the nation would always remember their sacrifices and would never let them go in vain.
The Home Minister emphasised that both the Central and state governments are firmly committed to ensuring lasting peace in the region. He said the governments are also focused on delivering the benefits of development to every individual without interruption.
A poignant moment during the visit occurred when Shah met the families of martyrs Kalendra Prasad Nayak and Pawan Kumar Mandavi, who lost their lives in a Naxal attack in Bijapur. He expressed his condolences, shared their grief and assured them of full administrative and financial support.
Shah also interacted with security personnel deployed in the region. He appreciated their courage and dedication.
The Minister motivated them to continue their service with determination.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai echoed similar sentiments. He said Chhattisgarh would always honour the bravery and sacrifice of its martyrs.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the state government is working with sensitivity and commitment. He said the focus remains on ensuring the dignity, security and welfare of their families.
Sai added that Bastar is progressing towards a new phase defined by peace, trust and development. He credited the vital role played by security forces in bringing about this transformation.
