Amit Shah Inaugurates 400-Bed Max Smart Hospital Tower In Delhi’s Saket

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated a new 400-bed tower at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital in Saket, Delhi. The expansion takes the hospital’s total capacity to around 1,200 beds.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the inauguration as the Guest of Honour. Delhi Health and Family Welfare, Transport and Information Technology Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh and South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri attended the event.

The new tower aims to strengthen tertiary and quaternary healthcare services for patients from Delhi-NCR and other parts of India.

The expanded facility will provide specialised treatment across more than 22 medical disciplines.

The facility features advanced medical technology, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot and Mako Total Knee Replacement Robot. These systems support minimally invasive and precision-focused procedures across multiple specialities.

Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director of Max Healthcare Institute Limited, said the facility combines advanced technology, modern infrastructure and Indian clinical expertise. He said the centre would help build a stronger and more inclusive healthcare ecosystem.

Max Healthcare said its integrated healthcare and medical education ecosystem employs more than 42,000 people.

The group provided free treatment worth Rs 244 crore to 3.60 lakh patients last year. Its Max Institute of Medical Sciences supported 1.62 lakh students through higher education, training and professional learning programmes.

The healthcare group treated more than 40 lakh patients from over 800 cities and 180 countries during the last financial year. It operates 21 healthcare facilities with more than 6,100 beds. Its network spans Delhi-NCR and several other cities, including Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Mohali, Bathinda, Dehradun and Bhubaneswar.
