Amit Shah Holds Talks With Nepal Delegation Led By Rabi Lamichhane

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met a Nepalese delegation led by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane in New Delhi on Tuesday and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding relationship with Nepal.

The Union Home Ministry shared details of the meeting on X and stated that Shah congratulated Lamichhane on the RSP’s electoral success. He also conveyed India’s best wishes for the effective functioning of the new government in Nepal.

Both sides reiterated their firm commitment to deepen the special partnership between the two neighbouring nations. They emphasised cooperation and stronger engagement across various areas of mutual interest.

Earlier in the day, the Nepalese delegation met Bharatiya Janata Party President Nitin Nabin under the ‘Know BJP’ initiative.

Nabin outlined the BJP’s ideological framework and explained Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance approach. He described the party’s organisational structure, from the national leadership to booth-level workers.

Nitin Nabin highlighted how BJP cadres maintain direct engagement with citizens and address grassroots concerns.

The Bharatiya Janata Party President underlined the deep historical bond between India and Nepal. He said the relationship rests on shared civilisational values, cultural closeness, and enduring people-to-people connections. He added that such exchanges strengthen democratic dialogue and political cooperation between the two countries.

The RSP delegation showed interest in understanding the BJP’s membership system, candidate selection process, and leadership development mechanisms.

Responding to these queries, Nitin Nabin said the party’s strength comes from continuous public outreach and active citizen participation. He also highlighted development, public welfare, good governance, and efficient service delivery as central pillars of the Modi government’s approach.

Both sides further exchanged views on the growing influence of Generation Z in politics and its role in shaping future democratic leadership.
