Highlighting the evolution of the Padma Awards, Shah stated that the honours have undergone a significant transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

According to him, the awards now recognise individuals who have created meaningful change through dedication, perseverance, and selfless service rather than focusing solely on prominent public figures.

The Minister noted that the honours increasingly celebrate grassroots contributors whose efforts have positively influenced communities and inspired social progress.

Shah emphasised that the recognition of lesser-known changemakers has strengthened the spirit of participatory democracy in the country. He said the Padma Awards encourage citizens to play an active role in nation-building by demonstrating that impactful contributions from ordinary individuals can receive national recognition.

The Home Minister added that the honours inspire people from all walks of life to become stakeholders in India’s development journey.

Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reshaping the Padma Awards into a platform that celebrates service, innovation, and commitment to society. He remarked that the revised approach has broadened public participation and also ensured that deserving individuals from remote regions and diverse backgrounds receive acknowledgement for their contributions.

Concluding his message, Shah extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Padma Award recipients. He also expressed confidence that their achievements and dedication would continue to inspire future generations and contribute to the nation’s progress.
