Amit Shah Hails Indian Shooters After Women’s Skeet Team Wins Asian Games Bronze

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan after the Indian trio secured the bronze medal in the women’s skeet team event at the 2026 Asian Games.

Shah praised their achievement in a message shared on social media.

The Indian women’s team combined for 331 hits to finish third in the competition. Raiza Dhillon and Parinaaz Dhaliwal each recorded 111 hits, while Maheshwari Chauhan contributed 109 to the team’s overall score.

The result also gave India its first-ever Asian Games medal in the women’s skeet team event. China secured gold, while Kazakhstan finished with silver.

In his message, Shah congratulated the three shooters and described their bronze medal as another proud moment for India.

He also encouraged the athletes to maintain their winning spirit as the Asian Games campaign continues.

The women’s skeet medal formed part of a strong showing by Indian shooters at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

The country also secured a bronze medal in the men’s skeet team event, with Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill combining for the podium finish.

Raiza and Parinaaz also advanced to the women’s individual skeet final after both shooters recorded 111 hits during qualification.

Raiza eventually finished fourth with 23 hits, while Parinaaz ended the final in eighth place. Maheshwari finished 12th in qualification and did not advance to the individual final.

The skeet results added to India’s shooting medal tally at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

The performances of the three women shooters further highlighted India’s presence in the shotgun events at the continental multi-sport competition.
