Amit Shah Congratulates Indian Shooters On Men’s Skeet Bronze At Asian Games

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Singh Gill and Mairaj Ahmad Khan after India secured the bronze medal in the men’s skeet team event at the 2026 Asian Games.

Shah shared his message on social media and praised the shooters for adding another achievement to India’s campaign.

The Indian trio finished level with Kazakhstan at 346 points before securing third place in a shoot-off. Their performance earned India the bronze medal in the men’s skeet team competition at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

The medal added to India’s growing success in shooting at the continental event. Naruka, Gill and Mairaj produced a combined effort that kept India in contention for a place on the podium.

Anantjeet Singh Naruka also advanced to the men’s individual skeet final after producing a strong qualification performance.

Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtegh Singh Gill also competed in the individual qualification round.

In his message, Shah said the shooters had added to the pride of the Tiranga through their bronze-medal performance. He congratulated all three athletes and encouraged them to maintain their momentum during the remainder of the competition.

The men’s skeet bronze came on a productive day for Indian shooting, with the women’s skeet team also claiming a bronze medal.

Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Maheshwari Chauhan secured third place in the women’s team event, giving India another podium finish in skeet.

The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games are taking place from September 19 to October 4, with Indian shooters competing across rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines.

India’s performance in skeet has added further momentum to its shooting campaign, while Naruka’s individual final provides another opportunity for the Indian contingent to compete for honours.
