Amit Shah Claims Congress And Pakistan Share Agenda On Jammu And Kashmir

Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Thursday that Pakistan and the Congress party share a common agenda regarding Jammu and Kashmir. He referenced recent remarks from Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, who expressed support for the Congress and National Conference’s call to restore Article 370.

Shah stated, “Pakistan’s Defence Minister’s comments expose the Congress party. This reveals that Congress and Pakistan have the same intentions.” He accused Rahul Gandhi of aligning with anti-India forces, stating, “For years, he has supported those who hurt our national sentiments.”

Assurance of Government Stance

Shah emphasized that the Modi government remains steadfast against the return of Article 370 or terrorism in Kashmir. He reiterated, “Neither Article 370 nor terrorism is going to return to Kashmir.”

Asif had earlier noted that both the Shehbaz Sharif government in Pakistan and the Congress-National Conference alliance in India stand united on the issue of restoring Article 370. He mentioned that there is a “high chance” of the alliance winning the ongoing Assembly elections, highlighting this as a pivotal issue.
