News Click funding case: News portal News Click has been accused of carrying out anti-national activities. Now the central investigating agency Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has also started taking action in the matter of funding of the website. ED has now summoned American millionaire Neville Roy for questioning. The investigation has revealed allegations that he has given huge funding to Newsclick and has provided help worth millions of dollars.
In this case, the New York Times report states that Singham’s network had funded Delhi-based news website Newsclick. It was also told that the funding amount was around Rs 38 crore. It is also alleged that Singham works for the Chinese Communist Party and mostly lives in Shanghai city of China. In such a situation, Neville Roy’s troubles have increased after the action against NewsClick has been started.
Let us tell you that Delhi Police has registered an FIR under UAPA against Amit Chakraborty, head of the human resources department of Newsclick, and Prabir Purkayastha, founder of Newsclick, and both were arrested on October 3. He had also requested the High Court to end the case but all his demands were rejected.
