In a surprising twist of events, Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has made a claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed a condition before Ajit Pawar, stipulating that he should enlist the support of Sharad Pawar if he aspired to assume the role of Maharashtra’s chief minister.
However, amidst these assertions, NCP leader Supriya Sule expressed her lack of awareness regarding any such development and clarified that she has not received any offer from the BJP. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has also dismissed this news.
According to Wadettiwar, PM Modi conveyed to Ajit Pawar that his aspiration of becoming the chief minister hinges on securing Sharad Pawar’s alliance.
Wadettiwar emphasized that Ajit Pawar’s repeated meetings with Sharad Pawar and his earnest pleas indicate the gravity of this purported condition.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told Ajit Pawar that if he wants his dream of becoming the chief minister to come true, then he should get Sharad Pawar on their side… And that is why Ajit Pawar seems to be repeatedly meeting Sharad Pawar and making desperate pleas,” Wadettiwar revealed to television reporters.
Sule, however, remained oblivious to these claims, stating, “I have no clue about all this… I am too busy with my constituency work. Pawar saheb has already replied to such claims. He has already spoken about this… He is independent, he is capable of defending himself.”
“I have no clue about all this… I am too busy with my constituency work. Pawar saheb has already replied to such claims. He has already spoken about this… He is independent, he is capable of defending himself,” Sule clarified to The Indian Express.
When queried about her stance on the BJP’s efforts to involve Sharad Pawar, Sule’s response echoed her leader’s stance.
“My reaction is what my leader says…” Sule emphasized.
Sule maintained a neutral stance, stating, “I am ambivalent. I am indifferent because nobody has made any offers to me.”
In response to the hypothetical scenario of receiving an offer from the BJP, Sule expressed her pragmatic approach.
“I don’t react to hypothetical questions. I live in the real world,” Sule asserted.
Sunil Tatkare from the Ajit Pawar-led NCP dismissed the claims as baseless, categorizing them as a “ridiculous” notion.
He refrained from delving into the discussion between the two leaders, asserting it as a private family matter.

Tatkare underscored that the collaboration with BJP was devoid of any preconditions, emphasizing their joint commitment to the nation’s and state’s development.
Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan acknowledged that he had heard of the BJP’s purported offer to Sharad Pawar, but he had not yet verified this information from his sources.
Sanjay Raut, chief spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), downplayed Ajit Pawar’s influence and dismissed any possibility of him making such offers.
The alleged political maneuverings surrounding Ajit Pawar’s aspirations and the involvement of Sharad Pawar have ignited a series of denials and conflicting perspectives among prominent Maharashtra leaders. As these claims continue to circulate, the veracity of such assertions remains in question.
