‘All India Bhojpuri Society’ leds Chhath Puja in Lucknow, DM Suryapal Gangwar assessed the preparations

The preparations for Chhath Mahaparva and Chhath Puja to be held under the leadership of National President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj Prabhunath Rai were reviewed today. Chhath Mahaparva will be celebrated on 19-20 November, during which, in view of Chhath Puja to be held in Lucknow from Laxman Mela Ground to Gomti, Lucknow District Officer Suryapal Gangwar gave instructions to all the departments for necessary action.

National President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj, Prabhunath Rai said that Chhath Puja held in Lucknow is celebrated in large numbers at about 110 places. Many people perform Chhath Puja by digging a pit in their homes or in the adjacent parks and pouring water into it. Prabhunath Rai said that this is because there is no water facility at many places in the district, people there themselves make arrangements for this puja.

Demand to declare government holiday on Chhath Puja

National President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj Prabhunath Rai has also demanded from the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Central Government to declare a national holiday on Chhath Puja. He says that Chhath Puja is popular in the state.

This festival is celebrated not only in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh but also in almost the entire world, where people of Purvanchal have gone. In the last 30-40 years, Chhath Puja has been organized in about 80 countries of the world including Mauritius, Suriname, Fiji, Guiana, Australia, the Netherlands, and Singapore.

Women observe a waterless fast for 36 hours, and the sun god is worshipped

Prabhunath Rai said, “Chhath Puja is the worship of the Sun God, who is also known as Lord Bhaskar, and people’s faith in this festival is increasing day by day. In this, women observe a waterless fast for 36 hours.”

CM Yogi Adityanath gave these instructions regarding Chhath Puja

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had directed in 2022 that grand preparations should be made for Chhath Puja and whatever facilities can be provided at the government level. It was said by the

Uttar Pradesh government that where there is no light or sound, arrangements will be made for the same. The Chief Minister had directed that the ponds should be cleaned and lime should be sprinkled.

A discussion on these problems took place in front of the Lucknow District Magistrate

According to an official of All India Bhojpuri Samaj, in the meeting held at the District Magistrate of Lucknow today, all the departments were told that wherever there is any problem, it should be resolved immediately. Clean there, clean Chhath Ghat. This time, the Chhath Puja that will be held at the Lakshman Mela grounds should be cleaned. There should be an adequate police force; arrangements for fogging, fire brigade vehicles, medical camps, and vehicles should also be made.

More than 150 folk artists will perform in the program.

According to the official, more than 150 folk artists will present cultural programs at this event. This program will start at 3:00 pm on the 19th and end at 8:00 pm on the 20th. He said, “All India Bhojpuri society has been organizing Chhath Puja at Laxman Mela Ground for the last 39 years.

The National President of All India Bhojpuri Samaj has instructed all the officials in the entire state that wherever Chhath Puja is held, everyone should do shramdaan, do cleanliness, and provide cooperation in Chhath Puja. These leaders, including CM Yogi and Minister Brijesh Pathak, can come.

According to the official, in the Chhath Puja to be held on November 19 and 20, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Surya Pratap Shahi Agriculture Minister, Brijesh Pathak Deputy Chief Minister, Development and Energy Department, Mayor Lucknow Sushma Kharwal, Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Vajpayee, State President Bharatiya Janata Party Honorable Bhupendra Chaudhary Organization General Secretary Dharampal Singh, etc. are likely to be present. Invitations are being sent to all of them from the National President of the All India Bhojpuri Society.

The cleanliness campaign will run until November 20, 2023

The official of All India Bhojpuri Samaj said that the people of All India Bhojpuri Samaj will continue to run the cleanliness campaign until November 20th. He said that the Chhathmaha festival is on November 19th and 20th, and wherever the festival is celebrated, there will be continuous cleanliness. Cleanliness has special importance during Diwali and Chhath festivals. In such a situation, the Gomti River and Chhath Ghat will be kept clean by running a cleaning campaign.

The Lucknow Development Authority and Municipal Corporation will make arrangements

Chhath Ghat is being interlinked for cleanliness by Dr. Indra Mani, Vice Chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority. Government officials say that wherever Chhath Puja is held in other places of Lucknow, its complete preparation, cleanliness, and all the arrangements will have to be done under the leadership of the Municipal Corporation and Lucknow Development Authority.

Even today, cleaning was done during Shramdan at Chhath Ghat in Lakshman Mela Ground, Gomti Bank, Lucknow. In this program, a cleanliness campaign was conducted in the presence of officials of the All India Bhojpuri Social Organization, Ved Prakash Rai, Awadhesh, Sanjay Yadav, Hanuman Yadav, Manoj Singh Tirtha Ram, and Municipal Corporation employees.
