Akasa Air on Tuesday launched commercial services from Noida International Airport (NIA), becoming one of the first carriers to operate from the newly developed greenfield aviation hub.
The airline simultaneously introduced direct connectivity between Noida and Navi Mumbai, reinforcing its footprint in the National Capital Region and supporting its broader expansion strategy.
The inaugural flight departed Navi Mumbai International Airport at 7:25 AM and reached Noida International Airport at 9:35 AM. The return service left Noida at 10:15 AM and arrived in Navi Mumbai at 12:30 PM.
The new route marks a notable development in Akasa Air’s growth roadmap.
The airline aims to leverage emerging airport infrastructure and rising passenger demand across northern India.
Company officials said the move aligns with its long-term objective of establishing a robust presence in key high-growth aviation markets.
Anand Srinivasan, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, described the commencement of services from Noida as a significant achievement in the carrier’s expansion journey. He said the airline’s early presence at Noida International Airport complements its strategy of building a strong domestic network while contributing to the development of modern aviation infrastructure.
Anand Srinivasan added that Akasa Air looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the airport and delivering a seamless and reliable travel experience.
Christoph Schnellmann, Vice Chairman of Noida International Airport, welcomed the airline’s arrival and highlighted its role in enhancing passenger choice and regional connectivity. He noted that Akasa Air’s operations would create new travel opportunities while expanding access to convenient air services.
The development further strengthens Noida International Airport’s position as an emerging aviation gateway and supports the continued growth of India’s dynamic civil aviation sector.
