AK Sharma’s Ministries March On The Path of Development In UP

Uttar Pradesh marches on the path of development with all perseverance and excellence of the efforts by the Urban Development Ministry in Uttar Pradesh.

In the last eight months since the formation of the new UP government in Uttar Pradesh, AK Sharma’s both of the ministries have been successfully supported the expectations of the people of the state.

AK Sharma, a 1988 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer, has been assigned  the responsibility of two huge departments of the UP government as Urban Development and Energy ministries. With the prompt decisions on the issues pertaining to his ministries, AK Sharma’s actions have been appreciated in public as well as in the government.

One of the unique works started by AK Sharma includes his instruction of the city cleaning around the state from 5 to 8 in the morning. The employees and officers are now also supposed to get the cleaning done using machines while staying on the spot.

The UP minister has also instructed the departmental officers and personnel that the public should not be unnecessarily harassed.

Among many here are the prime decisions taken by AK Sharma are being lauded by the people of the state:

● As per the compulsory cleaning instructions by the Urban Development minister, along with the main roads, cleanliness is seen even in the streets where there was no cleaning at all.
● For the first time in the history of Uttar Pradesh, cleaning and washing of roads by machines was started several times a day in commercial areas.
● Also a campaign was organized by the Minister for Special city cleanliness which ran from 17 September to 2 October inspiring people towards the cleanliness of the cities.
● Municipal service fortnight campaign was also launched for a fortnight from 1st to 15th November.
● City service campaign from 16 to 30 November.
● Campaign commitment:  75 hours, 75 districts, 750 bodies cleanliness campaign.
● City beautification campaign from 5 to 12 December.
● Special attention was paid to the control of communicable diseases including dengue with anti-larvae spraying and fogging.
● For the first time in Uttar Pradesh, a helpline of 1533 toll free number was started to listen to the complaints of the people of the state.
● Implemented SAMBHAV (Sambhav) online system for redressal of public complaints within a month.
● Created a portal named SUGAM to coordinate the development works in the cities.
● Apart from removing the piles of garbage accumulated in the cities for decades, selfie points, gardens etc. were constructed there.
● Started a campaign to get rid of potholes on the roads.
● Started the program of beautification of intersections.

Several decisions were taken on the instructions of Minister AK Sharma in the Energy Department:

● After becoming a minister, personally went and inspected power plants, power sub-stations and offices in the nights and days to meet the increased demand of electricity during summer.
● Power plants were run at maximum PLF.
● Contacted the Government of India and ordered more coal.
● Electrical solutions Redressed lakhs of complaints in a week.
● Arrangements were made to prevent exploitation of consumers during electrical checking.
● Twice himself explained to the workers of billing agencies to give the correct bills and also got them punished for making mistakes.
● Meters were installed at the homes of a large number of unmetered consumers.
● By depositing the bills even from the consumers who never paid, brought them into the process.
● The number of personnel working on 1912 toll free number has been doubled in a week for redressal of complaints.
● Started the system of public hearing from the power sub-stations and up to the ministerial level.

● Created an OTS scheme for the arrears of the electricity bill and started the  part-payment system to deposit the remaining bill.
● Due to the untiring efforts of Mr. Sharma, maximum power supply was achieved in the history of Uttar Pradesh.
● The farmers were given tubewell connections at a fast pace.
● Thousands of kilometers of dilapidated wires were replaced by AB cable in the state.
● In view of the drought situation, adequate electricity was made available to everyone including the farmers.
● New Solar Energy Policy 2022 was made in the interest of public and environment.

AK Sharma has also  instructed to take action for not redressing the problems of the public at his own level on time. AK Sharma created his own portal named “Tej” to solve the problems of the public without any problem. Under his leadership, the Urban Development and Energy Department has tried to redress the grievances of the public immediately.
