Air India Cancels Middle East Services As Military Strikes Intensify In Iran

Air India on Saturday confirmed that it has temporarily cancelled all services operating to and from destinations across the Middle East due to the rapidly changing security climate in the region.

The announcement follows the launch of extensive military operations in Iran by the United States and Israel, which have sharply intensified regional instability.

In a formal communication, the airline stated, “In view of the developing situation in parts of the Middle East, all Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East have been suspended.”

The national carrier reiterated, “We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety for our passengers and crew. We will continue to assess the safety and security environment for our flight operations and adjust operations proactively as required. Our teams will be extending all necessary support to passengers.”

Passengers were further advised to remain in touch with the airline’s round-the-clock call centres for updated information and necessary guidance.

The airline requested customers to regularly monitor its official website and confirm that their contact details are correctly registered.

Air India Express Also Pauses Westbound Services

Air India Express separately announced, “Air India Express has suspended all westbound international flights. The safety and security of our guests and crew remain our highest priority.”

Affected passengers are being contacted directly through their registered communication channels.

The airline noted, “We continue to closely monitor the evolving situation and will proactively review and adjust our operations as necessary. Our teams are extending all possible support and assistance to impacted guests.”

The coordinated strikes carried out by the United States and Israel targeted multiple locations in Iran. The attacks have raised fears that the conflict could spread further across the Middle East.

The rising tensions are expected to force airlines around the world to review their flight routes. Carriers may also reconsider their operational plans as the situation continues to develop.
