Advisor To Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Of Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal Chairs High-Level Meeting To Expedite Service Recruitment Rules

The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal chaired a meeting of all Commissioner Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries and conducted a review and assessment of the implementation of various ongoing works and initiated expedited service recruitment rules at Civil Secretariat, Leh.

At the outset, Dr Pawan Kotwal emphasized the importance of submitting the Gazetted Recruitment Rules for each department by September 15, 2023. Additionally, they instructed that the Service Recruitment Rules should be uploaded to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) website for concurrence in a clear timeline and procedure for the submission and approval of recruitment rules.

During the review, the advisor assessed the expenditures of different departments and advised the Secretaries to maintain regular monitoring of these expenditures. He stressed the importance of staying updated on the progress of expenditure, addressing any obstacles or issues that may arise, and ensuring the seamless execution of various development projects.

Director of the Finance Department, UT Ladakh Dr. Safdar Ali mentioned that his department is specifically reviewing expenditure meetings with the heads of various departments to ensure effective financial management and accountability within UT Ladakh.

In a significant demonstration of their commitment to promoting cleanliness and hygiene, the Advisor of UT Ladakh, the ADGP, Ladakh, Administrative Secretaries, Directors, Deputy Secretaries, and officers took the pledge on Swachhta, pledging their dedication to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. It is a broader initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting community participation in cleanliness and sanitation efforts.

The Principal Secretary of H&UDD, UT Ladakh Sanjeev Khirwar highlighted the need for a holistic approach to Swachhta, encompassing not only personal hygiene but also the cleanliness of public spaces, and the responsible disposal of waste, and taking commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in UT Ladakh.

The meeting involved the active participation of the Additional Director General of Police; the Principal Secretary; Administrative Secretaries; Directors; Deputy Secretaries; and Officials were also present.
