Adani Skill Development Center Is Empowering Women In Varanasi, 50 Appointed In KPO

With the objective of women empowerment, the Adani Skill Development Center, established in Sevapuri, Varanasi under the supervision of Adani Foundation, has been working with commitment for the last several years in an effort to make rural women self-reliant.

Appointment Of 50 Trained Women

ACC, a cement and building materials company from the diversified Adani portfolio, in collaboration with Adani Foundation, is also empowering rural women through its Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) at Salai Banwa (Sonbhadra). The initiative recently achieved a significant milestone with the placement of 50 trained women at Indivillage, a knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) enterprise, enabling financial independence and community upliftment.

Adani Skill Development Center’s focused training programs equip women with essential technical, communication, and industry-specific skills, preparing them for roles in data processing, market analysis, and customer support. This initiative is promoting sustainable development while creating opportunities for women to advance in the digital economy.

The beneficiaries include Sandhya Verma, who comes from a farmer family in Sewa Puri, Varanasi. With the support of the Adani Skill Development Centre’s KPO training program, Sandhya secured a job at Indivillage, allowing her to contribute to her family’s financial stability. She said, “Getting a job in Varanasi has been life-changing. This Diwali, I gifted my parents new clothes and contributed to family celebrations, bringing joy to all of us.

Emphasis On Empowering Women

This initiative underscores Adani Foundation’s commitment to promote sustainable development and empower women, ensuring a brighter future for individuals and their communities in rural Varanasi and beyond. Adani Foundation in Varanasi aligns skill development and entrepreneurship programs with its mission. The effort to socially and economically empower the weaker sections of society, regardless of their caste, creed, colour, has brought about a positive change.

The Foundation Is Working In 19 Cities

Adani Skill Development Centre (Saksham) is a flagship initiative of Adani Foundation, run under the Sustainable Livelihoods component. Adani Foundation and National Skill Development Corporation provide a platform to underprivileged, marginalized, vulnerable members of society to revive and transform their livelihoods. It is operating in 30 centers in 19 cities and has launched more than 55 vocational courses in the country, benefiting more than 90,000 people in remote rural areas.
