At the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, unveiled ambitious plans to inject Rs 2 lakh crore into Gujarat’s green energy and renewable sectors over the next five years. This significant investment is poised to create over 100,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
Adani emphasized the Adani Group’s strategic vision in spearheading India’s transition towards a cleaner and sustainable energy future. He underscored the group’s commitment to play a pivotal role in the global fight against climate change, positioning itself as a key player in India’s renewable energy landscape.
During the summit, Adani outlined, “We are expanding the green supply chain to bolster India’s self-reliance and establish the largest integrated renewable energy ecosystem.” He reaffirmed the commitment of the Adani Group to invest over Rs 2 lakh crore in Gujarat, focusing on green initiatives over the next five years.
Highlighting India’s commendable economic growth under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Adani noted the Adani Group’s substantial progress in fulfilling its previous commitments. He revealed that out of the Rs 55,000 crore pledged in the last summit, the group has already allocated over Rs 50,000 crore across diverse sectors, surpassing the target of creating 25,000 jobs, both direct and indirect.
Adani specifically mentioned the establishment of a massive green energy park in Kutch, spanning 25 square kilometers with a capacity of 30 GW, notable enough to be visible from space. He also highlighted India’s impressive economic achievements, citing a 185 percent growth in GDP and a 165 percent surge in per capita income since 2014. He expressed optimism about India’s future growth trajectory, foreseeing even more promising prospects ahead.
