Adani Green: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), the world’s largest solar power developer and the renewable energy arm of Adani portfolio companies, has won the ‘Sustainability 4.0 Awards 2022′ jointly organized by Frost & Sullivan and The Energy and Research Institute (TERI). Leaders’ Award. The AGEL has emerged as one of the topmost ‘Sustainability Front Runners’ under the ‘Mega Large Business’ category in the service sector.

The 13th edition of this prestigious legacy was organized by Frost & Sullivan, which has over 50 years of experience partnering with 1000 global companies, emerging businesses and the investment community across six continents, and the TERI. The award aims to recognize the most influential companies that promote sustainability and are actively working for the betterment of the environment.
It highlights the importance of linking an organization’s strategy, governance and financial performance to the social, environmental and economic environment in which it operates, and allows businesses to make long term decisions that ensure stakeholder value.
The AGEL’s relentless pursuit of sustainability can be seen in its operations and the CSR initiatives. All of the AGEL’s operating sites are single-use plastic free and it has recently been certified Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) for 100% of its operating capacity for the FY22. The AGEL is also a partner of the Indian Business and Biodiversity Initiative and is committed to doing business with ‘No Net Loss’ for Biodiversity.
By producing and supplying renewable energy, the AGEL has avoided 23.6 million tonnes of CO2 emissions accumulated to date. As a step towards realizing the twin objective of promoting domestic manufacturing along with accelerating renewable energy footprints, under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ program, the AGEL along with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), has signed the world’s largest ever green power purchase agreement for 4.67 gigawatt green energy supply.
