Adani Foundation Unveils ‘Butterfly Effect’ Framework For Women’s Empowerment

The Adani Foundation hosted its inaugural national-level roundtable on February 19, 2025, in New Delhi, ahead of International Women’s Day. This significant event brought together key stakeholders to discuss strategies and formulate pathways to accelerate women’s empowerment across India.

During the event, the Foundation unveiled its ‘Butterfly Effect’ framework, a transformative approach designed to address the evolving needs of women at every stage of their lives.

Introducing The ‘Butterfly Effect’ Framework

The roundtable discussion served as a vital platform to engage stakeholders in deriving strategic insights that can enhance the outreach and impact of women-centric interventions. The goal was to identify new collaborations that can scale up the socio-economic empowerment of women across the country.

The Foundation’s ‘Butterfly Effect’ framework aims to position women at the center of all interventions, empowering them with the necessary tools and resources to thrive through various stages of life.

For nearly three decades, the Adani Foundation has been committed to women’s empowerment. Since 1996, the Foundation has implemented a series of targeted interventions that cater to the unique needs of women at all stages, from infancy to old age.

These efforts ensure that women receive continuous support, fostering socio-economic well-being and enhancing their opportunities for growth.

Rather than focusing on charitable distributions, the Foundation emphasizes long-term outcomes through initiatives in education, nutrition, health security, skill-building, and self-reliance.

By promoting economic activity and providing opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, the Foundation catalyzes transformation for women, empowering them to make informed choices for themselves and their families.

Comprehensive Support For Women At Every Life Stage

The ‘Butterfly Effect’ framework represents this holistic approach by addressing the needs of women throughout different life stages.

From early childhood and adolescence to young adulthood, middle age, and old age, the framework ensures that women receive support at every point in their journey, promoting their growth, self-reliance, and well-being.

During the roundtable, the Adani Foundation also released its ‘Supporting Her Exponential Empowerment (S.H.E.)’ report.

This detailed document highlights the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to empower women at every stage of life. It emphasizes the holistic nature of the Foundation’s interventions and their impact on women across the country.

Commitment To Empowering Women

Dr. Abhishek Lakhtakia, Chief Executive Officer of the Adani Foundation, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to women’s empowerment. He stated, “We design our interventions to ensure equitable access to opportunities, fostering growth, well-being, and empowerment at every phase of a woman’s journey.”

This inaugural roundtable discussion will serve as a steppingstone to further the cause of women’s empowerment and expedite impactful outcomes.” He stressed the importance of collaboration between all stakeholders to scale interventions effectively at each life stage.

Impact And Future Goals

Through its transformative initiatives, the Adani Foundation continues to drive inclusive, sustainable, and transformative change in the lives of women. To date, the Foundation has positively impacted the lives of over 2 million girls and women through its dedicated efforts.

With the launch of the ‘Butterfly Effect’ framework and continued collaboration, the Foundation is set to make an even greater impact on women’s empowerment across India in the coming years.
