Action Demanded Against Hindu Shakti Dal Chief For Claiming Construction Of Ajmer Dargah Over Shiv Temple

The chief of a group called Hindu Shakti Dal, Simran Gupta, has come under flame of the khadims of Ajmer Dargah for allegedly calling Sufi saint Moinuddin Chisti a terrorist and a rapist. The man also purportedly stated that a previous Shiv Temple had to be demolished in order to construct the “Jannati Darwaja” of Ajmer Dargah.

Demand for arrest of man who claims Ajmer Dargah built on Shiv temple

In a letter to Ajmer’s SP, Sarwar Chishty, the head of an organization of “khadims” from Ajmer Dargah, called for Gupta’s arrest due to his offensive remarks. Chisty claimed to PTI that the fringe group had disparaged the saint with hate speech and offensive comments.
“It is very unfortunate and disgraceful that the members of fringe organisation ‘Hindu Shakti Dal’ deliberately, as per a well-planned criminal conspiracy, made a hate-speech filled with offensive remarks and extremely objectionable defamatory statements against Khawaja Gharib Nawaz within the premises of Ajmer Collectorate campus,” he said.

No actions from police

Additionally, he added that no action was taken by the police against any of the group’s members. He added that the man has not been taken into custody despite providing testimony.
“There is a multi-fold rise in rumour mongering, twisted historical facts, misinformation, abusive, insulting and defamatory comments on Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, and Dargah Ajmer Sharif ‘khadims’ as well as the Muslim community. Shockingly, despite our written complaint along with documentary and electronic evidence, and multiple FIRs, no one has been arrested by police so far for curbing hate speech and maintaining social harmony and peace,” he said.

If the individual is not taken seriously by the police within a week, he vowed to stage a protest. According to PTI, circle officer Dargah Gauri Shankar said that two First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed regarding Simran Gupta’s statement, which was made almost a week ago. The subject is currently under investigation.

Gupta had just sent a memorandum to the district administration requesting that the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) conduct a survey of the dargah.

This occurs weeks after a Varanasi court allowed a Hindu priest’s family to pray in the Gyanvapi Mosque’s basement. Days after the ASI assessment asserted that the mosque’s location was the location of a pre-existing Hindu temple, the order was issued.
