An official on Wednesday informed about the incident of a stabbing that took place in Tihar jail. A member of the Gogi gang sustained injuries after he was attacked by two people in Tihar jail. It is alleged that the attackers are the members of Tillu Tajpuriya ganj.
Sharing the information of Thursday, police officials said that the incident was not linked to any gang war.
The incident took place around 11:15 am on Wednesday. A person named Hitesh sustained injuries in the attack and undergoing treatment at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. As per the officials, the victim’s condition is stable.
“On Wednesday, a matter was reported in Hari Nagar police station from DDU that an injured man from Tihar jail has been brought to the hospital. Based on that, the local police reached the hospital and inquired about the matter,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer stated.
According to ANI, Hitesh was attacked with an improvised weapon in prison OPD.
Investigators discovered that Hitesh, who is allegedly connected to the Gogi gang, was assaulted during a fight in Tihar Jail. “Gaurav Lohra and Gurinder have emerged as the individuals who attacked Hitesh. Investigations are currently being conducted to confirm the attackers’ identities. Hitesh was sent to the DDU hospital after suffering injuries, according to the DCP.
According to the DCP, Gaurav and Gurinder are behind bars for attempted and actual murder, and Hitesh is behind bars for a murder case.
