A Final Goodbye: Key Union Ministers Lament Ratan Tata’s Demise

Key Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw, S. Jaishankar, and Hardeep Singh Puri expressed their condolences Thursday morning following the passing of visionary business leader Ratan Tata.

Ratan Tata, the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, died at Breach Candy Hospital due to age-related health issues late Wednesday. He was 86.

Union Minister Of Culture And Tourism Expressed Sorrow

Minister of culture and tourism and MP from Jodhpur, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat expressed sorrow over the loss of India’s gem, Ratan Tata.

He took to the X and said that he is ‘deeply saddened’ to know that Ratan Tata is no more with us.

Expressing condolence, he wrote, “My heartfelt condolences to the entire Tata group family and all those whose lives he touched with his generosity and kindness.”

‘extraordinary nation-builder’: Vaishnaw

Information and Broadcasting Minister Vaishnaw stated, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Ratan Tata, a visionary business leader, an extraordinary nation-builder, and a remarkable human being.” He emphasized Tata’s indelible legacy in industry and society, offering heartfelt condolences to Tata’s family and loved ones.

Tata, known for his genteel demeanor and sharp business acumen, served as Chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 until his retirement on December 28, 2012. His leadership transformed the Tata Group into a global powerhouse.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar remarked that Tata’s passing marks “the end of an era.” He noted Tata’s significant role in modernizing and globalizing Indian industry, reflecting on how his interactions with Tata enriched his own understanding.

‘Tall Business Stalwart’, says Hardeep Puri

Petroleum Minister Puri expressed deep sadness over the loss of a “tall business stalwart.” He highlighted Tata’s commitment to ethical business practices and his role in elevating the Tata Group to a $100 billion global conglomerate.

Puri praised Tata’s simplicity and dedication to philanthropy, which touched millions of lives. He cited Tata’s advocacy for education, healthcare, sanitation, and animal welfare. “His legacy will live on and inspire generations to come,” Puri stated, extending heartfelt condolences to Tata’s family, friends, and admirers.

As the nation mourns, the profound impact of Ratan Tata’s life and work resonates across India and beyond.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated, “The end of an era!” He commended Tata’s integrity and compassion, noting his indelible mark on business and society.

Other leaders joined in mourning. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal called Tata a “giant of the global industrial world,” acknowledging his significant contributions to both humanitarian and economic sectors.

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu recognized Tata’s transformative impact on the aviation sector, while Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan lamented the loss of an inspirational figure.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that India Inc. is poorer with Tata’s passing, highlighting his philanthropic works and contributions to business.
