Budget Aims To Elevate Uttar Pradesh To $5 Trillion Economy: CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath introduced the supplementary budget based on his vision for Uttar Pradesh. He recalled Atal ji’s belief that dreams should be created and recreated if they are broken. He stated that this supplementary budget exceeds double the original budget from February.

Adityanath reported that the budget released 44 percent of its funds, with 20 percent already spent, despite the election period consuming two months. UP chief minister emphasized that this outcome confirms their correct direction, making the supplementary budget necessary. He noted that when his government began in 2017, Uttar Pradesh ranked sixth or seventh in the country’s economy.

He asserted that there is no identity crisis now; people respect UP. The state now ranks second in economic terms. He credited the success in delivering schemes to villages, the poor, and women, and in raising per capita income.

Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh increased its share of the country’s GDP to 8-9 percent. He attributed this success to measures against tax evasion and the significant impact of DBT. Yogi Adityanathcompared India’s economic progress, noting that the nation ranked 10th in 2014 and now stands fifth, with a target to become the third largest economy within three years.

He outlined the state’s goal to reach a trillion-dollar economy, with the supplementary budget supporting this aim. The government identified ten sectors to achieve this goal. He also discussed plans to build archways on state borders to welcome visitors, and the ongoing construction of airports, including Jewar Airport, which will strengthen the economy.

Adityanath mentioned improvements in travel time between Meerut and Delhi, the implementation of 27 sectoral policies, and initiatives like the ODOP scheme and Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana. He emphasized efforts to boost industrial investment and promote local products, contrasting with the previous SP government’s approach. He reported that exports have increased from 86 thousand crores to 2 lakh crores.
