21 MPs of I.N.D.I.A. Leave For Violence-Hit State To Asses The Situation On Ground

I.N.D.I.A bloc party MPs at Delhi airport to leave for a two-day visit to Manipur to assess the ground situation and meet the people there.
A group of 20 members from 16 different parties will travel to Manipur on Sunday to conduct a “on-the-spot assessment” of the situation there. Manipur has been plagued by violence. The opposition Indian National

Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will be represented by the 20 MPs.

Congressman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury remarked, “We are going there not to raise political issues but to understand the pain of the people of Manipur,” when asked about the trip to Manipur. We have urged the administration to address the delicate situation that has developed in Manipur. There is communal violence there, but it is not a law & order crisis. Additionally, it has an impact on the states nearby. The government has not carried out its duty. We will evaluate the actual scenario.
During the monsoon session of Parliament, the opposition coalition has protested in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha over its demands for a thorough debate of the situation in Manipur and a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They are outraged at the Prime Minister’s silence about this matter, which erupted into a highly heated and violent argument in May of this year. The little northeastern state has had over a hundred fatalities and thousands of displaced residents.

After a “Tribal Solidarity March” was organized in the hill districts on May 3 in opposition to the Meitei community’s demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status, fighting broke out in Manipur. Numerous people have been hurt and hundreds of people have died as a result of the violence.

The anxiety over the eviction of Kuki people from reserve forest area, which sparked a number of smaller agitations, came before the violence.
Meiteis make up the majority of the people in Manipur, making up around 53% of the total. Another 40% of the population is made up of tribes, like the Nagas and Kukis, who live in the highland districts.

I.N.D.I.A in Manipur for two days

The 21-member Opposition delegation, from both Houses, includes Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Gaurav Gogoi, K Suresh and Phulo Devi Netam of the Congress; Rajiv Ranjan Lalan Singh of the JDU; Sushmita Dev from Trinamool Congress; Kanimozhi from DMK; Sandosh Kumar of the CPI; AA Rahim from CPI(M), Manoj Kumar Jha of RJD; Javed Ali Khan of SP; Mahua Maji of JMM; PP Mohammed Faizal of NCP; Aneel Prasad Hegde of JDU, ET Mohammed Basheer of IUML; NK Premachandran of RSP; Sushil Gupta of AAP; Arvind Sawant of Shiv Sena (UBT); D Ravikumar of VCK; Thiru Thol Thirumavalavan also of VCK; and Jayant Singh of the RLD.
N Biren Singh, the chief minister of Manipur, received a letter from the opposition alliance and agreed to let the delegation visit the state.

According to Hussain, the group would meet with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Sunday morning.

According to the Congress leader, if helicopter use is permitted, MPs will be able to travel to remote parts of Churachandpur where new violence has broken out.Massacres, assaults, and rapes, according to Congressman Naseer Hussain, have allegedly been occurring in Manipur for the past 86 days.
