Such saints will not get entry in Maha Kumbh-2025. Akharas are the center of faith and devotion of Sanatan Dharma followers. Currently there are 13 Akharas. They have been organized through the All India Akhara Parishad.

To ensure that there are no faults in the saints associated with the Akhara, all the Akharas conduct a secret investigation of the working of their Mahamandaleshwar, Mandaleshwar, Mahant, Shrimahant at an interval of two-three years. The investigation is done by the officials of the Akhara.

In this, their lifestyle, working style, what kind of people they are associated with, are observed. If the working style is not found to be as per expectations, a notice is issued and a reply is sought. Those who are found guilty are immediately expelled from the Akhara.

This investigation was started in the month of April. The investigation is still going on. So far Juna Akhara has given notice to 54 saints, Shri Niranjani Akhara has given notice to 24 and Nirmohi Ani Akhara has given notice to 34 saints. This includes 13 Mahamandaleshwars, 24 Mandaleshwars and Mahants.

Nirmohi Ani Akhada’s president and Akhada Parishad (Mahanirvani group)’s general secretary Srimahant Rajendra Das has expelled half a dozen saints from the Akhada. These include Mahamandaleshwar Jayendranand Das of Nasik, Mahamandaleshwar Harendranand of Chennai, Mahant Ram Das of Ahmedabad, Mahant Avdhutanand of Udaipur, Mahant Vijayeshwar Das of Kolkata.

Apart from these, 8 saints from Nashik, 7 from Ujjain, 6 from Haridwar, 10 from Dwarika and 1 saint from Ranchi have been served notices and asked for their response. Meanwhile, Shri Niranjani Akhara has expelled Mahamandaleshwar Mandakini Puri and filed a police report against him. Apart from these, seven saints have been expelled.

Srimahant Ravindra Puri, President of All India Akhada Parishad and Sri Naranjani Akhada said that in the internal investigation of 6 saints, many Mahamandaleshwars and saints did not pass the test.

Niranjani Akhara’s Mahamandaleshwar Mandakini Puri has been expelled and police action has been taken. Whoever is wrong will be taken further action against. Those expelled from the Akhara will not be allowed to enter Maha Kumbh-2025.

International spokesperson of Juna Akhara, Srimahant Narayan Giri said- Investigation is going on into the working of saints. The status of some is suspicious, they have been sent notices and asked for answers. If proper answers are not received, they will be expelled.

Every Akhara is run by officials like president, vice president, secretary, deputy secretary, minister, deputy minister, police chief, thanapati etc. Those who have worked dedicatedly for 15-20 years in the Akhara are made officials.

They are selected through elections. Five senior and learned members are given the title of Panch Parmeshwar. They run the ashram, monastery, temple and Gurukul of the Akhara. They decide who should be made Mahamandleshwar and who should not.

The officials and Panchs of the Akharas keep an eye on all the saints. There are complaints against saints whose activities are suspicious. The secretary, minister or joint minister level officials of the concerned Akhara are sent there. They stay for 15 to 20 days at the place where the case is. They stay outside and collect all the information.

Then they stay in the ashram of the suspected saint for a few days and keep an eye on all the activities. After this, they give the report to the head of the Akhara. This report is placed before the Panch Parmeshwar of the Akhara. After discussing all the aspects, action is taken to expel or give notice.
