Viral Claim About Agniveer In Rajouri Declared False By PIB Fact Check

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has refuted claims circulating on social media that an Agniveer fled from Rajouri in Jammu & Kashmir carrying four AK rifle magazines. The government’s fact-checking unit categorically termed the allegation false and urged the public not to spread unverified information.

Several posts had alleged that the Agniveer had absconded with ammunition and that a search operation was in progress to trace him. The claims quickly gained traction online, prompting concern among users.

In a clarification issued under the #PIBFactCheck initiative, officials confirmed that no such event had taken place in Rajouri. Authorities stated that there has been no case of any Agniveer fleeing with rifle magazines.

They further clarified that no AK rifle magazines are missing and that reports suggesting otherwise are baseless. The statement aims to counter misinformation and reassure the public about the situation.

The PIB urged citizens to refrain from sharing unverified or misleading posts, especially those concerning security matters. It emphasised the importance of relying solely on official channels for accurate and timely updates.
