PIB Flags Fake ‘Quantum AI’ Investment Scheme Misusing Nirmala Sitharaman’s Name

The Government of India has issued a warning against a viral online claim about a so-called ‘Quantum AI’ investment scheme that falsely uses the name of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The claim promises unusually high returns, including Rs 25.5 lakh on an investment of Rs 25,000 within 30 days.

The fact-checking unit of the Press Information Bureau has clarified that the claim is fake and not endorsed by the minister or any government authority.

According to officials, the misleading content is part of a broader trend where scammers exploit the names of prominent public figures to lure unsuspecting investors.

Social media platforms are widely circulating the ‘Quantum AI’ scheme, creating a false sense of legitimacy.

Authorities have stressed that neither the Finance Minister nor the Government of India has launched or supported any such investment programme.

The promise of guaranteed high returns in a short period signals a key red flag.

Citizens have been urged to exercise caution and verify financial offers through official government sources before making any investment decisions.

Officials highlighted the importance of cross-checking information to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.

The government has also encouraged individuals to report suspicious or misleading content related to government schemes.

Dedicated channels have been provided for reporting such cases, including a WhatsApp helpline and an official email ID managed by the fact-checking unit.

With online financial scams on the rise, authorities continue to emphasise awareness and vigilance as the first line of defence against misinformation and fraud.
