The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check exposed a fake Facebook advertisement.
The AI-generated video falsely showed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Mukesh Ambani and Sudha Murthy endorsing a bogus investment platform.
The fabricated advertisement claimed users could earn up to ₹1 lakh daily. It falsely promised these returns on an investment of ₹22,000.
In its X statement, PIB Fact Check clarified that the circulating video is completely fabricated. It said the Government of India has neither authorised nor endorsed the video.

The agency warned that AI fraudsters created a fake webinar to deceive investors.
The manipulated video employs pressure tactics to influence potential investors. It displays countdown timers showing limited registration slots and prominently features bank logos to create a false sense of legitimacy.
These misleading elements aim to push users into making quick financial decisions without proper verification.
PIB Fact Check urged citizens not to trust advertisements promising unrealistic returns or guaranteed daily income. It advised the public to verify every investment opportunity through official government platforms and authorised financial institutions. It urged people to do so before making any financial commitment.
The agency also encouraged people to remain vigilant against AI-enabled financial fraud and avoid sharing personal or banking information with unknown platforms.
Citizens who encounter suspicious or manipulated online content should immediately report it through the designated PIB Fact Check WhatsApp service or official email.
The government reiterated that public awareness and timely reporting remain the strongest defence against the growing threat of digitally generated financial scams targeting unsuspecting individuals.
