PIB Fact Check on Wednesday dismissed a viral video circulating on social media that falsely attributed controversial remarks to a senior Ministry of External Affairs official regarding the Quad grouping, Israel and the United States.
The government’s fact-checking unit said Pakistani propaganda accounts circulated the digitally altered clip using artificial intelligence technology to spread misinformation and mislead viewers online.
The manipulated video falsely showed Additional Secretary (AMS – USA & Canada) Nagraj Naidu Kakanur making provocative comments suggesting India could control the United States through its ties with Israel, even if the Quad alliance collapsed.
PIB Fact Check clarified that the video was completely fake and confirmed that the MEA official never made any such statement in the original recording.

The agency also shared the authentic version of the video and urged citizens to report suspicious or misleading content through official government channels.
The altered clip falsely showed the MEA official making controversial remarks about Israel, the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Quad alliance.
The original video featured discussions on critical minerals, rare earth resources and global supply chains.
PIB Fact Check said AI tools digitally manipulated the clip and urged people not to share unverified content online.
The clarification came shortly after Quad Foreign Ministers met in New Delhi to discuss cooperation in critical minerals, energy and Indo-Pacific security.
