Fake HPCL LPG Dealership Approval Letter Circulates Online, PIB Issues Warning

Press Information Bureau (PIB) has issued a fact check warning against a purported approval letter allegedly issued by @HPCL claiming to offer LPG agency dealership or distributorship.

According to the official post shared by PIB Fact Check on X, the approval letter circulating online is fake. The advisory makes it clear that the document does not originate from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and should not be treated as authentic.

In its verification note, PIB Fact Check categorically stated that the approval letter in question is fake. The document falsely claims to grant LPG agency dealership or distributorship under HPCL’s name, potentially misleading individuals seeking legitimate business opportunities.

Such fraudulent letters are often used to deceive applicants by promising dealership allotments in exchange for money or personal details.

PIB has advised citizens to rely solely on the official website, http://lpgvitarakchayan.in, for authentic information regarding LPG distributorship or dealership appointments.

Applicants are encouraged to cross-check any communication related to LPG agency allocation through official government and oil marketing company platforms to avoid falling victim to scams.
Authorities continue to caution the public against sharing sensitive information or making payments based on unverified documents circulating on social media.
