Yash’s Toxic Release Shifted To June 4 After West Asia Tensions Disrupt Gulf Markets

The makers of director Geethu Mohandas’s much-anticipated action drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups on Wednesday announced that the film’s worldwide release has been postponed to June 4 this year due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

The film, headlined by Yash, was originally scheduled for a global premiere on March 19.

Production houses KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations confirmed the strategic rescheduling, stating that the decision was made at the advice of their key distribution partner, Phars Films.

The postponement comes as tensions escalate in West Asia. The situation has disrupted cinema operations across the Gulf region, a crucial market for the film’s multilingual global rollout.

The producers said they had been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation before arriving at the decision.

The announcement comes as the team was preparing for a grand trailer launch planned for March 8 in Bangalore. Media representatives from across the country were expected to attend.

The team had also finalised its promotional roadmap ahead of the earlier March 19 release date.

Although the film’s first single, ‘Tabaahi’, was ready for release on March 2, the makers decided to hold back the music video. They also paused the promotional campaign that was set to begin shortly.

Makers Explain Decision to Delay Film

In an official statement, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations said, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a film we conceptualised with the vision to create cinema for a global audience. Filmed in Kannada and English. It is built with the conviction to connect with viewers both at home and across the world.”

“After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on the 19th of March. However, the current uncertainty, especially in West Asia, has created a situation that threatens our goal of reaching and connecting with the widest possible audience. Therefore, in the interest of our partners and our audience, we have made the difficult but carefully considered decision to reschedule our release,” they further added.

The makers thanked audiences for their patience and said the film will now be released globally on June 4, 2026. It will be available in English and several Indian languages.

Apart from Yash, the film also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles.

Written by Yash and directed by Geethu Mohandas, the film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. It will also be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
