The makers of director Shaji Kailas’s upcoming Malayalam action-survival thriller Varavu have revealed actor Murali Gopy’s character, raising anticipation among film enthusiasts.
Production house Olga Productions shared the first-look poster on Instagram and introduced Murali Gopy as Medayil Kochettan.
Earlier this week, the makers also revealed that actress Saniya Iyappan plays a character named Lisha.
The film will be released in theatres on July 16, 2026. The film was initially scheduled for release on June 12, 2026.
The producers postponed it due to unforeseen circumstances, stating that they wanted to deliver the best possible cinematic experience.
The recently released trailer has significantly increased expectations. It introduces Joju George’s character Paulson, a murder convict released on a 10-day parole.
The trailer suggests that Paulson seeks revenge against those who betrayed him, causing fear among his enemies and concern among the police.
The film also highlights the emotional conflict between Paulson and his elder sister, a nun played by Sukanya, who tries to stop him from pursuing vengeance.
Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan appears as Yohan, one of Paulson’s most formidable adversaries.
Varavu features an ensemble cast including Arjun Ashokan, Babu Raj, Vinci Aloysius, Ashwin Kumar, Biju Pappan, and several others.
AK Sajan has written the screenplay, while S Saravanan handles cinematography and Shameer Mohammed serves as editor.
