Actors Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty, alongside singer Sonu Nigam, recently participated in an emotional jam session with Indian soldiers, performing the patriotic song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from their forthcoming war drama Border 2.
Since its release, the track ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ has received overwhelming appreciation from music lovers across the country. Interestingly, the song has also resonated strongly with members of the Indian armed forces.
In a widely shared social media video, one soldier played the harmonium while another accompanied him on the dholak, as the actors and singer joined in.
Notably, the clip, captioned ‘ghar’, highlighted the deep emotional connection between soldiers and their loved ones.
Previously, Sonu Nigam described his association with the song as an emotional homecoming. He shared the track on his official Instagram handle, dedicating it to the nation’s brave soldiers and their families.
Sonu Nigam’s heartfelt note on Instagram read, “Some songs aren’t just melodies; they are emotions that belong to the soul of our nation. 🇮🇳 Being a part of this song for Border 2 felt like a beautiful homecoming. It is rare for an artist to relive such magic, and I feel truly blessed that this journey continues. This one is for our brave soldiers and the families waiting for them.”
The song draws inspiration from the iconic ‘Sandese Aate Hai’ from the 1999 film Border, originally sung by Sonu Nigam and Roopkumar Rathod.
Memorably, the song featured Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Jackie Shroff, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar and music by Anu Malik.
Composer Mithoon reimagined the latest version of the song, while lyricist Manoj Muntashir Shukla added new lyrics that blend nostalgia with contemporary emotion.
Director Anurag Singh has helmed Border 2, while Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta have produced the film. The makers will release it in cinemas on January 23, promising a powerful blend of patriotism, emotion and cinematic scale.
