Telangana High Court Grants Interim Bail To Pushpa 2 Actor Allu Arjun In Fan Death Case

Allu Arjun was granted relief by the Telangana High Court on Friday evening after it granted the Pushpa 2: The Rule actor interim bail in connection with the death of a fan at the film’s premiere. The actor had been arrested from his home by Hyderabad Police earlier in the day.

The Tollywood actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday by Hyderabad Police in connection with a tragic stampede at the premiere of his film Pushpa 2. The actor will likely be presented before the Nampally Court later in the day, reported.

The incident, which occurred on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere show attended by Allu Arjun, claimed the life of a woman and left her son critically injured.

What Triggered Stampede?

According to the authorities, the stampede was triggered by an unmanaged rush of fans attempting to enter the theatre to see the Pushpa actor. The authorities stated that they were not informed in advance about the Pushpa 2 team’s visit, which led to insufficient crown management measures.

What Charges Did Allu Arjun Face?

The national award-winning actor was taken into custody from his house in Jubilee Hills, hours after his return from Delhi, where he attended the success meet of Pushpa 2. Allu Arjun, along with his team and Sandhya Theatre’s management were charged under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

These charges have relevance to culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

An official from the Police station remarked, “The lack of communication and preparation led to chaos, resulting in this tragic loss of life.” However, the actor announced the assistance of Rs. 25 lakhs for the deceased’s family and expressed that he is “deeply heartbroken”.

Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court postponed the hearing on Allu Arjun’s quash petition to 4 pm on Friday. The incident has sent shockwaves across the film industry, with many celebrities asking for stricter regulations to manage the film events. As per the media reports, the actor has been taken into judicial custody for 14 days.

The fans and users on social media are divided, where some criticised the lack of planning, and some defended the Yevadu actor.
