Tapsee Pannu at Lakme Fashion Week 2023
A right–wing group has filed a police complaint in Indore, Madhya Pradesh against actor Tapsee Pannu. The actress has been accused of allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments at a fashion show in Mumbai, a police official said on Monday.
According to the complaint filed by Eklavya Singh Gaur of the group Hind Rakshak mentioned that the actress was seen wearing skimpy clothing and a piece of jewellery that featured the Goddess Laxmi.
Monisha Jaising a fashion designer, created Taapsee Pannu’s costume for Lakme Fashion Week 2023, which became a buzz. Taapsee strutted down the runway wearing a shimmering crimson gown. She wore an embellished gown covered in sequins. She completed her look with a large-sized golden necklace.
Tapsee shares an Instagram post. She wrote, “The evening with my princess gown n queen like jewels looked like….”
She added,” I was enchanted by Reliance Jewels’ Akshaya Tritiya collection which is inspired by the majestic Thanjavur. Their designs captivated me, reigniting my love for jewelry all over again.”
After the end of Lakme fashion week 2023, Tapsee was trolled on social media. Meanwhile, many users felt that the actress shouldn’t have worn the gold necklace with such a skin-bearing dress because of the integrally etched Goddess Laxmi pattern on it.
Several people felt that wearing a goddess necklace with such a deep neck costume is ‘insensitive’.

The film production will begin in April 2022. The scene is set to be shot extensively in Punjab. Meanwhile, she is also preparing for the sequel of the film ‘Haseen Dillruba,’ in which she will star alongside Vikrant Massey.
