Suryasparsh: Ajay Devgn Returns To Supernatural Genre With Garuda Purana-Inspired Thriller

Ajay Devgn is set to return to the supernatural genre with his upcoming horror thriller Suryasparsh, directed by Rohit Jugraj.

The makers have locked the title after earlier reports referred to the project by its working title, Griha Pravesh.

The film will reportedly present Devgn in a supernatural and morally ambiguous role.

The story draws inspiration from the Garuda Purana, an ancient Sanskrit text associated with a dialogue between Lord Vishnu and Garuda.

The makers have kept major plot details under wraps, but the source material suggests that the film will explore supernatural themes alongside questions of morality and human choices.

Rohit Jugraj will direct the project. Interestingly, Jugraj previously worked as an assistant on Ram Gopal Varma’s 2003 horror film Bhoot, which starred Ajay Devgn.

The new collaboration brings the filmmaker and actor together in a full-fledged supernatural thriller.

Panorama Studios’ Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak will produce the film alongside Devgn Films.

Production began on September 2, 2026, and the team plans to continue shooting through November.

The makers currently target a theatrical release in the second half of 2027, although they have not announced an exact release date.

With its mythological inspiration and Devgn’s supernatural character, Suryasparsh will introduce a different horror setup from his previous genre outings.
