Veteran actor Sunny Deol struck a deeply patriotic chord as he reflected on nationalism, generational responsibility, and emotional legacy during the grand teaser launch of Border 2 in Mumbai.
Speaking with conviction and visible emotion, Deol expressed strong faith in Gen Z, asserting that today’s youth remain equally committed to protecting the nation, just as earlier generations did.
Addressing the audience at the high-profile event, Deol spoke candidly about what patriotism means to him. He described the nation as a mother figure and said that this sentiment transcends generations.
According to him, the spirit of sacrifice and duty continues to flow strongly among young Indians, regardless of labels such as Gen Z. He emphasised that while times and terminology change, the core emotional bond with the country remains intact.
Deol said the youth of today would rise to defend and honour the nation just as their fathers, grandfathers, and ancestors once did. He underlined that patriotism is instinctive and nurtured within families, not imposed by eras. His remarks resonated strongly with the audience, many of whom responded with applause and chants.
The moment turned especially poignant when Sunny Deol delivered his iconic dialogue from Border, “Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye? Lahore tak.”
As he spoke, his voice trembled, and his eyes welled up, drawing an emotional response from the crowd.
This appearance marked his first professional public event following the passing of his father, legendary actor Dharmendra, adding a layer of personal gravity to the occasion.
The teaser launch coincided with Vijay Diwas, amplifying the film’s patriotic symbolism.
The event brought together the lead cast of Border 2, including Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, creating a blend of veteran gravitas and youthful energy that mirrors the film’s theme of generational continuity.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 continues the legacy of the 1997 blockbuster Border, which portrayed the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
The sequel draws inspiration from the same historic conflict, promising a powerful cinematic tribute to courage, sacrifice, and national pride.
The film features a strong ensemble cast, with Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Angad Singh, Guneet Sandhu, and Paramvir Cheema in supporting roles.
The makers aim to blend realism with emotional storytelling, reinforcing the idea that patriotism remains relevant across generations.
Slated for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026, Border 2 positions itself as more than a war film.
Through Sunny Deol’s words and presence, the project signals a renewed call to national consciousness, placing trust in India’s youth to carry forward the legacy of courage and commitment.
