Actor Sonu Sood recently shared how his upcoming film, ‘Fateh’, allowed him to connect with his inner superhero. In an exclusive interview with IANS, the actor revealed that playing the role of a common man with extraordinary inner strength and determination gave him a fresh perspective on self-belief and personal growth.
“‘Fateh’ was my dream role,” Sonu stated enthusiastically. “It’s a character I’ve always wanted to portray—a common man who discovers the superhero within. I believe everyone has that hidden superhero inside them. This film helped me discover that side of myself. I hope audiences will not only enjoy the story but also find inspiration in it.”
When asked about the significance of the film’s title, the ‘Simmba’ actor described Fateh as the ability to inspire hope. “True Fateh is not about being rich, famous, or influential. It’s about changing lives. When someone leaves their village in Punjab or Uttar Pradesh, believing their life will change when they meet the right person, that’s real Fateh,” Sonu explained.
He further emphasized that the essence of the movie lies in its message of empowerment and resilience, making it relatable to anyone striving to overcome challenges.
As part of the promotional tour, Sonu Sood visited Amritsar, where he expressed his deep connection to Punjab, his homeland. Reflecting on his directorial debut, Sonu said, “Stepping into the role of a director felt like coming full circle. I knew this journey had to begin at the Golden Temple, where the film itself opens.”
Sonu also shared his emotions about revisiting his roots. “Growing up in Punjab has shaped who I am. Every visit fills me with gratitude and pride. Seeking blessings at the Golden Temple and witnessing the Wagah Border parade have been calming and motivating experiences. The patriotism of this soil is a treasure I carry with me.”
‘Fateh’ features a stellar cast, including Jacqueline Fernandez, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vijay Raaz. Produced by Umesh KR Bansal of Zee Studios and Sonali Sood of Shakti Sagar Productions, with co-production by Ajay Dhama, the film promises a gripping narrative.
The movie explores themes of courage, resilience, and the fight against cybercrime, highlighting Sonu Sood’s commitment to meaningful storytelling.
Slated for release on January 10, 2025, ‘Fateh’ marks a significant milestone in Sonu’s career. With its inspiring message and action-packed storyline, the film is poised to leave a lasting impact on audiences.
