Sonakshi Sinha Won’t Convert To Islam, Says Groom’s Father

Before their wedding on June 23, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal clarified plans for a civil marriage ceremony. Zaheer’s father, Iqbal Ratansi, confirmed that Sonakshi will not convert to Islam and emphasized that their wedding will exclude both Hindu and Muslim rituals, focusing solely on a civil marriage. He asserted in an interview that religion will play no role in their marriage.

Dispelling rumors about Shatrughan Sinha’s feelings towards the wedding, the veteran star appeared publicly with Zaheer and expressed his approval of their union. Photographers captured them together, smiling and posing outside a building, while Shatrughan offered his blessings to his future son-in-law.

After seven years of dating, Sonakshi and Zaheer have scheduled their wedding for this Sunday, followed by a celebration at Shilpa Shetty’s restaurant, Bastian, in Mumbai. Various personalities, including Huma Qureshi and Aayush Sharma, are expected to attend the event.

Regarding her career, Sonakshi recently starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, alongside Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sharmin Segal Mehta. Aditya Sarpotdar is directing the horror comedy ‘Kakuda’, in which Sonakshi is playing the lead role. The film is based in a cursed village in Uttar Pradesh where houses have two doors—a regular-sized one and a smaller one. The film revolves around a unique ritual involving the smaller doors of every house on Tuesday evenings, with dire consequences for those who neglect this tradition, including facing the wrath of Kakuda.
