Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki to release a day before on December 21, To get an upper hand over Salaar

It is well known that Shah Rukh Khan goes all out in confrontational situations and that he has the best business sense in the whole film industry. According to information, his upcoming film, Dunki, which is helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, will premiere on December 21, 2023—a day earlier than its previously scheduled December 22, 2023 release date.

An anonymous source claims that Shah Rukh Khan and the group intend to release their social comedy one day early in order to try for a standalone release. “The goal is to obtain that extra day off from competition. The Thursday solo release will guarantee that word-of-mouth travels more quickly. Indeed, before a single Salaar episode aired, people would be raving about Dunki and its substance. Due to astrological factors, Salaar will release on December 22, 2023; there is currently no way for the film to be released in India on December 21.” A source with knowledge of the situation.

From the perspective of screen distribution, this is also a brilliant move because, by being released prior to Salaar, it will provide SRK’s Dunki a greater advantage over Salaar in terms of screen and program allocation. Since Dunki was the first to arrive, it will receive the premium screens; in other words, Dunki will have an advantage over Salaar in terms of first movers when it comes to screen selection. It’s a strategically sound move. Given his current popularity, SRK has the ability to turn any ordinary working Thursday into a national holiday, which relates to the unusual Thursday release date,” the source continued.

On December 21, 2023, Dunki will also be launched internationally. After Team Dunki took the initial action to gain the upper hand in the battle, it is now up to us to see Team Salaar’s response.
