Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ is finished and a ‘little like life itself’, stated Shah Rukh Khan, who is now riding high on the success of his two films, ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’.
On Wednesday, during a #AskSRK session with his fans on ‘X’, the actor fielded a few questions regarding the comic drama film, which would be his first collaboration with Hirani.
The 57-year-old actor replied, “#Dunki is done and very beautiful. A little like life itself”, to a fan who asked about the progress of the film.
‘Dunki’ also stars Taapsee Pannu, and is directed by Hirani from a script he co-wrote with Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon. The film is scheduled to be released on December 22, 2023.
One fan wondered if Shah Rukh will include any action sequences in ‘Dunki’, as he did in ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’. The actor replied, “Dunki is all funny and emotional. It’s Raju sir world mere bhai. Thoda sa action maine daal diya hai…pata nahi sir rahein na rakhein….woh editor bhi hain na”.
Another fan inquired whether the Christmas release date of Dunki has been set, and the actor responded, “Dunki Fixed hi hai. Aur kya karoon Maathe pe gudwa loon”.
SRK and Hirani also had a nice banter during the session.
JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films have all backed ‘Dunki’.
This film will be Shah Rukh’s third film released in 2023. With the release of ‘Pathaan’ in January, he made a comeback as a leading man. The Siddharth Anand-directed film grossed over Rs 1000 crore at the global box office.
On September 7, 2023, his most recent film ‘Jawan’, directed by Atlee, was released. Globally, the film has grossed more than Rs 1000 crore.
