Samuel L Jackson Confirms Return As Nick Fury

Samuel L Jackson will return as Nick Fury in Avengers: Secret Wars, bringing one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most influential characters back for its upcoming multiverse saga finale.

However, the actor has confirmed that Fury will skip Avengers: Doomsday.

Jackson revealed the news during a red-carpet interview with The Direct at the premiere of his film The Beast.

When reporters asked about his next Marvel appearance, he indicated that audiences would see him in the movie following Doomsday.

He also admitted that Marvel Studios had not shared the upcoming film’s storyline with him.

Jackson first appeared as Nick Fury in the post-credit scene of Iron Man (2008). Since then, Fury has played a crucial role in connecting Marvel’s superheroes and assembling the Avengers.

His most recent MCU film appearance came in The Marvels (2023), where he continued his work with the SABER space station.

His return could help Marvel reconnect the multiverse storyline with the character who originally brought many of Earth’s mightiest heroes together.

Although fans may expect Fury to coordinate the heroes against powerful threats, Marvel has not revealed his specific role in Secret Wars.

Any connection to Doctor Doom, Battleworld or a new Avengers team remains speculation.

Marvel currently schedules Avengers: Doomsday for December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.

Joe and Anthony Russo will direct both films.

Jackson’s confirmation has strengthened anticipation for Secret Wars, but audiences must wait for Marvel to reveal more details about the film’s cast and story.
