Nana Patekar Cremated With Full State Honours In Pune; Receives Three-Gun Salute

Veteran actor Nana Patekar received full state honours during his cremation at his farmhouse in Donje village, Pune district, on Thursday. He died aged 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest in Goa and received a three-gun salute during his final rites.

A large crowd gathered at the farmhouse to pay their last respects to the veteran actor.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tribute to Patekar at Pune airport before leaving for Mumbai. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the actor’s farmhouse in Donje to offer his condolences.

Doctors at the hospital attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other resuscitation measures for around 45 minutes but could not revive him.

The actor’s death has marked a significant loss for Indian cinema, given his decades-long career and reputation for portraying complex characters.

Known for his intense acting style and powerful screen presence, Patekar established himself as a prominent figure across Hindi and Marathi films.
