Samay Raina Jokes About Maharashtra Cyber Link As CM Fadnavis Felicitates Him

Comedian Samay Raina used humour to reflect on his previous association with Maharashtra Cyber after the agency questioned him over his show India’s Got Latent.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis felicitated Raina for contributing to a cybercrime awareness film.

The event marked the unveiling of Digital Arrest and the 1930 Maharashtra Cyber Anthem.

Raina contributed to both initiatives and spoke about his earlier interactions with the cyber cell.

“Maharashtra cyber and I go way back,” Raina joked, prompting laughter from CM Fadnavis and other entertainment personalities. He added that the cyber cell remained highly active.

“The Maharashtra Cyber Cell is very active. I can tell you this for sure. Today, for the first time, a cyber cell officer picked up a comedian from his home only to felicitate him,” he said.

Raina joked that he had saved Maharashtra Cyber’s number because officials often contacted him during India’s Got Latent controversy.

Raina began performing at open mics in 2017. He later opened for comedians Anirban Dasgupta and Abhishek Upmanyu in Pune. In 2019, comedian Aakash Gupta suggested that he join Comicstaan 2, where Raina became a joint winner.

In 2025, Raina announced his nationwide Still Alive And Unfiltered tour. The comeback tour began in Bengaluru on August 15 and concluded in Delhi on October 5.

In 2026, Raina released his debut comedy special, Still Alive, on YouTube after nearly a year away from the platform. The special became YouTube’s most-viewed stand-up comedy special.

Raina later announced two collaborations with Netflix India.

The first involves India’s Got Latent Season 2, which will stream on Netflix and YouTube. The second is a new stand-up special.
